So the rehearsals begin…

What makes a rehearsal exciting?

What becomes truly special is the process of a rehearsal – From start to finish, the beginning of a rehearsal is so exciting for all. Delving straight into the chapters from Kafka’s Contemplation; we embark on a journey of sub-text. What was Kafka truly feeling at the time of writing these beautiful ‘observations’ and also what does the writing mean to us as a cast? How are the themes or stories still relevant in 2023?

The ‘physical’ representation of Kafka within the story telling is paramount, as this performance will delve into Kafka’s world, his relationships with others and his observations of life moving around him. Natasha has been using her worn out bamboo canes for now, which will eventually ‘morph’ into  puppets to be used within The Writer’s Mark performance.

“Working with such a talented cast is a true joy; this makes Natasha’s organic but structured way of interconnecting text and movement a countenance to behold. And one must never forget the hours of fun we are having and personal growth we are acquiring on our way to this extraordinary tribute to Franz Kafka.”
